- During coating, as distinct from pelleting, the seed retains its original shape. Coating can be done by dipping seeds in a suspension of the coating material as with steeping of sugar beet or vegetable seeds, or by using the Wurster Air Suspension Technique, originally designed for the pharmaceutical industry.
