rock magnetism
Définition
- In the literature, rock magnetism sensu stricto is defined as a geophysical tool for studying the magnetic properties of rocks. It thus encompasses all techniques for analysing the magnetic fabric and recognising the magnetic mineralogy of rocks. It is often distinguished from palaeomagnetism, which studies the fossil magnetic field recorded by the ferromagnetic minerals in a rock.
