Definición

  • Goethite is a FeO-OH hydroxide of the orthorhombic system forming tabular crystals (with perfect cleavages) or short prisms, needles, lamellae, and concretion masses. It is most often a shiny blackish brown, but can also be yellowish or reddish and accompanies other iron oxides (e.g. hematite).
