  • A study method of autobiographical memory in which "[p]articipants generate a number of I ams, e.g., I am a Father, I am a downhill skier, I am generous, I am impatient, I am a qualified first-aider and a subset of these statements are chosen (by the experimenter or by the participant) to use as memory cues, such as asking people to generate memories which are associated with the identity of being a father." (Rathbone et Moulin, 2024, p. 805).
