false memory implantation paradigm

Définition

  • An experimental paradigm for implanting a false memory of a complete autobiographical event. The general principle of the method is to interview participants several times about an event they have not experienced (for example, being lost in a mall as a child, in the experiment by Loftus & Pickrell, 1995). At the end of the interviews, the researchers assess whether the subjects have formed a false memory of the fictitious event.
