- Empédocle (en grec ancien : Empedoklês) est un philosophe, poète, ingénieur et médecin grec de Sicile, du Ve siècle av. J.-C. Il fait partie des philosophes présocratiques, ces premiers penseurs qui ont tenté de découvrir l'arkhè du cosmos, son "schéma". (Source : DBpedia)
