  • THE CHIEF OF the section of Thoracic Medical Oncology and associate professor of medicine, as well as co-director of the Phase I Clinical Trials Working Group at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, Roy Herbst is one of America's leading authorities on research for the treatment of lung cancer. Herbst spent much of his recent medical research efforts into looking into the synergistic effects of pairing erlotinib (Tarceva) and bevacizumab (Avastin), which he believed may be useful in treating patients who have advanced non-small cell lung cancer.
