Définition
- Ovulation is the process by which a female reproductive cell, the ovum (plural, ova), is released from the ovary into the oviduct for fertilization by the male reproductive cell (sperm). In women, an ovum is released cyclically, about every 28 days, from puberty until menopause. [Source: Encyclopedia of Human Development; Ovulation]
