crystallized intelligence

Définition

  • A type of general intelligence that involves the ability to use verbal skills, factual knowledge, and experience; it can be distinguished from fluid intelligence, which can be understood as a type of intelligence that is independent of acquired knowledge. First identified by Raymond Cattell (1971), the two types are correlated with each other, and most tests of intelligence evaluate both modalities.
