respondeat superior
Definición
- Respondeat superior is an English common law doctrine governing employer-employee relationships. A Latin phrase for “let the master answer,” respondeat superior is also called the “master-servant rule.” Originally, the doctrine imposed a strict liability on an employer or master, who was held responsible for the wrongful acts of his/her employees or servants.
