Revolutionary Association of the Women of Afghanistan

Definición

  • The Revolutionary Association of the Women of Afghanistan (RAWA) was founded in 1977, in Kabul, Afghanistan, by a group of Afghan women intellectuals. Their initial purpose was to encourage the use of democratic processes, but they changed their focus to direct political resistance after the 1979 Soviet takeover of Afghanistan.
