- Charles Martin Sevilla (1945-) is a renowned criminal defense attorney who has argued several seminal cases related to the Fourth Amendment. In United States v. Ortiz (1975), the Supreme Court agreed with Sevilla's assertion that vehicle searches held away from border crossings and their equivalents, performed without warrant or probable cause, are prohibited under the Fourth Amendment.
