Definición

  • In a per curiam opinion in Florida v. Casal, 462 U.S. 637 (1983), the U.S. Supreme Court decided to dismiss a case after deciding that it should not have accepted it for review because the judgment of the lower court rested on adequate and independent state grounds. The case began when police stopped and boarded a fishing boat owned by Constantino Casal. [Source: Encyclopedia of the Fourth Amendment; Florida v. Casal]
