Definición
- STUDIES OF THE changes in cancer rates and patterns when groups of people undergo major geographic relocations have been a key element in establishing the dominant role of environmental, rather than genetic, risk factors in the causation (etiology) of cancer. In addition, these studies confirmed observations that environmental exposures influencing the risk of cancer in particular organs of the body may differ and that the period of life when the onset of these exposures occurs can determine their effects on cancer development.
