labor market intermediaries

Definición

  • Matching supply and demand for labor works fairly well in developed economies, but mismatches do occur, beyond the ups and downs of business cycles and labor demand, particularly in information, skills, wages, and location of jobs. These imperfections produce problems for the labor market's overall functioning, for specific types of businesses that cannot find skilled employees, and for workers who cannot find jobs.
