Definición
- Violence against women (VAW), which encompasses acts of physical, sexual, or psychological aggression perpetrated against females of any age, affects approximately one in five women during their lifetime and is recognized as a major public health problem worldwide. Child sexual abuse and intimate partner violence are among the most common forms of VAW. Extant literature links VAW with several adverse health problems, with substance use being one of the most common.
