Definición
- Foster care is a temporary system of support in the United States in which children who cannot remain with their biologic parents are placed with nonrelative foster families, other family members, residential facilities, or congregate care such as group homes. Since the 1990s, the primary permanency plan is reunification with the biologic parent(s). [Source: Encyclopedia of School Health; Children Living in Foster Care]
