- The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) is a nonprofit organization that is made up of member states; it was formed in 1919 for the purpose of promoting open trade and a free financial market. Many believed that there was a need for a neutral entity that could champion corporate responsibility in order to achieve global peace through business transactions.
