Ritalin

Definition

  • Ritalin is the trade name for methylphenidate; today, it is used primarily to treat individuals, mostly children, with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). However, Ritalin's history tells that it was marketed for a wide variety of uses other than for its most current one of treating hyperactivity.
