Definition
- The term metrosexual male or metrosexuals is an amalgamation of the words metropolitan and heterosexual that originally was used by journalist Mark Simpson in a story in the British newspaper The Independent and subsequently was used by Simpson in a widely quoted and reproduced article appearing on in 2002. The term was widely reproduced and recirculated in the popular media as a way of talking about shifting gender identity in the late 20th century.
