- Prevention education has a long-standing history in the United States, with a variety of programs created over the years that cater to youth at different age ranges. The Center for Substance Abuse Prevention offers a wide variety of prevention tools for children at different age ranges as well as tips for parents and teachers on educating children about alcohol and other drugs.
