Definition
- Telephony changed the patterns and organization of daily life and has become the primary means by which people maintain relationships and strengthen bonds. The landline telephone provided a new sense of security, made life more comfortable and pleasant for many, offered the possibility of physical separation without social isolation, and it made possible the extension of social networks beyond proximate others.
