Definición
- La quantité par laquelle l'orbite s'écarte de la circularité : e = c/a, où c est la distance du centre à un foyer et a le demi-grand axe. Si e = 0, l'orbite est un cercle. Si e < 1, l'orbite est une ellipse, si e > 1, c'est une hyperbole, et si e = 1, c'est une parabole. L'excentricité est l'un des six éléments orbitaux qui définissent une orbite keplérienne.
