X-Ray Absorption Spectroscopy

Analysis of the energy absorbed across a spectrum of x-ray energies/wavelengths to determine the chemical structure and electronic states of the absorbing medium. Analysis of the oscillations observed in an x-ray absorption spectrum that begin just above the absorption edge (i.e. the point on the spectrum where the amount of x-ray absorption suddenly increases) to determine or evaluate the chemical structure of the absorbing surface.
