Definition
- A reaction that introduces an aminoacyl group to a molecule. TRANSFER RNA AMINOACYLATION is the first step in GENETIC TRANSLATION. A reaction that produces an "activated" amino acid derivative, such as amino acyl adenylate, or amino acylphosphorylate and provides energy for the amino acid to be incorporated into a peptide, protein, or other macromolecule.
