- Procedures used for the induction of CELLULAR REPROGRAMMING to change the terminal phenotype of a cell, such as the generation of INDUCED PLURIPOTENT STEM CELLS from differentiated adult cells by the forced expression of specific genes. The manipulation of STEM CELL culture conditions to induce cell differentiation into a particular cell type. The creation of a pluripotent stem cell or other cell type from an adult somatic cell by the forced expression of specific genes or other methods.
