Jacks, clock figures
Définition
- One or two mechanical figures in armor which strike the hours, and sometimes the quarters, with a club or ax; more common in town clocks but may also be used in domestic clocks; some Black Forest clocks have two small figures striking the quarters and a larger figure striking the hours
