  • Optical devices, similar to peepshows, which incorporate a series of vignettes to illustrate a story or subject, such as scenes from a historical event; the images are affixed to a continuous roll of paper which is itself attached to spindles located at both ends of the box; the spindles are turned, allowing the vignettes to move across a cut-out window at the front of the box; the Myriopticon, produced by Milton Bradley Company, is a type of panorama box [Stanley]
