Nota de alcance
- Tyree Guyton works on The Heidelberg Project every day with the children on the block. He and director Jenenne Whitfield give lectures and workshops around the country, but the main goal is to develop the Project into the city's first indoor and outdoor museum; complete with an artist colony, creative art center, community garden, amphitheater, and more. [Named after the street where the artist grew up and where the project began, a neighborhood of abandoned, drug infested houses.] [Guyton] gathered discarded objects from the streets and used them to decorate the outsides of the houses, transforming them into urban art, or to make roadside sculptures. With the help of his grandfather, Sam Mackey...Guyton painted the objects he attached to the exteriors of the houses and surrounded them with everything from tires to toilets to tombstones, depending on his theme for the house. He also filled empty lots with rows of old drinking fountains and old appliances.
