  • It was on a parcel of land owned by R.W. Emerson, along Walden Pond; built 1845 by author Henry David Thoreau (1817-1862); destroyed (1868); a replica by Roland Wells Robbins is located in Lincoln, MA; another replica is at Walden Pond State Reservation. Thoreau called it a house, not a cabin.
