lexical database

An organized description of the lexemes of a language which includes an inventory of known morphemes and information about their meanings. (Adapted from The SIL Glossary of Linguistic Terms)

Although ambitiously announced (Saveski and Trajkovski. 2010) the Macedonian language is still not included in WordNet and even if it was this semantically organised lexical database is far too massive for the problem. (Zdravkova, 2022)
Generic resources (e.g. lexical databases) are promising for reducing the cost of specific lexica definition but they introduce lexical ambiguity. (Cavaglia, 1999)
Lexical databases are crucial in enhancing NLP systems by offering a foundation for understanding a language's lexicon. (Tonja, Balouchzahi, Butt, Kolesnikova, Ceballos, Gelbukh & Solorio, 2024)
One of the issues with using pre-existing lexical databases is that quite often the system users will come up with new terminology or new phrases for something and it's hard to match those with the existing entries. (Evens, 2022)
The system takes as its input a Lexical Database (LDB) where all the information contained in the MRD has been stored in an structured format. (Ageno, Castellon, Marti, Rigau, Ribas, Rodriguez, Taule & Verdejo, 1992)
