Contexto(s) definitorio(s)

  • The term topicalization means to mark a particular element in a sentence as the topic of that sentence. (Fujihara, Kuribayashi, Abe, Tokuhisa & Inui, 2022)

Ejemplo

  • For instance in English topicalisation causes an NP to appear in clause-initial position fulfilling the function of a sentential pre-modifier while maintaining the form of an NP. (Tse & Curran, 2012)
  • Korean topicalization is realized with the topic marker -nun (-un). (Kallmeyer & Yoon, 2004)
  • On the other hand some studies on formal criteria for computing the determination and the thematisation in a text look quite promising and might considerably improve the average quality of raw MT. (Boitet, 1987)
  • The deep module we are currently developing (Elhadad 1990a) will use politeness constraints (Brown & Levinson 1987) to decide which thematization is most appropriate. (Elhadad & McKeown, 1990)
  • Topicalization is realized typically by the word order as shown in Example (1) and different languages sometimes have different devices (e.g. particles and intonation) to mark a topic (Section 3.1). (Fujihara, Kuribayashi, Abe, Tokuhisa & Inui, 2022)
