Augmenting LMs by retrieving information from external knowledge resources is one promising solution. (Jiang, Xu, Gao, Sun, Liu, Dwivedi-Yu, Yang, Callan & Neubig, 2023)
Automated methods fall into two broad categories: methods based on distributional statistics drawn from text corpora and methods based on the structure of existing knowledge resources. (Yu, Cohen, Wallace, Bernstam & Johnson, 2016)
Knowledge resources can be leveraged in identifying emotion-related words in text and the lexical coverage of these resources may be limited given the informal nature of online discourse (Aman and Szpakowicz 2007). (Das & Bandyopadhyay, 2010)
KnowNet-10 performs better that any knowledge resource derived by manual or automatic means. (Cuadros & Rigau, 2008)
