sentence splitting

The task/process of recognizing and tagging sentence boundaries in a text. (Loterre)

In some cases the segmentation into sentences was not exactly parallel and we had to break primarily the German sentences into clauses or introduce blank segments in some of the files to allow for a better match. (Vojtechová, Novák, Klouček & Bojar, 2019)
In this paper we present in details our method in three main steps: 1) the document segmentation into sentences 2) the removal of the sentences exempt of renaming act (false positives) using both a gene nomenclature and supervised machine learning (feature selection and SVM) 3) the linking of gene names by the target renaming relation in each sentence. (Warnier & Nédellec, 2011)
We excluded sentences that comprise fewer than two tokens as these are likely an artifact of errors in sentence splitting. (Yang, Agarwal, Tar, Wallace & Nenkova, 2019)
