postposition

A postposition in Japanese represents a case slot for a verb but it has a variety of usages; thus determination of the English preposition corresponding to each Japanese postposition is quite difficult. (Nagao, Tsujii & Nakamura, 1985)
Although at first glance could seem that postpositions imply the examination of two consecutive words a posterior analysis showed that they offer rich and varied contexts of application requiring the inspection of several context words albeit not enough to need a full syntactic or semantic analysis of sentences. (Díaz de Ilarraza, Gojenola & Oronoz, 2008)
Basque postpositions play a role similar to English prepositions with the difference that they appear at the end of noun phrases or postpositional phrases. (Díaz de Ilarraza, Gojenola & Oronoz, 2008)
Korean is an agglutinating language using postpositions at the end of words to designate their functions. (Choi, Guillaume & Fort, 2021)
