Broader concept

Example

  • Another aspect of CantoMap is that words are segmented and this allows for a more fine-grained investigation of the effect of domains in which phonological processes occur. (Winterstein, Tang & Lai, 2020)
  • It rests on the idea that true lexical minimal pairs are not very frequent in human languages as compared to minimal pairs due to mere phonological processes. (Fourtassi, Schatz, Varadarajan & Dupoux, 2014)
  • Like our approach they use a probabilistic edit model as a formalization of the phonological process. (Bouchard, Liang, Griffiths & Klein, 2007)
  • Since both the prefix and the stem are altered if this is to be expressed by allomorphs (rather than by means of a phonological process) both the prefix and the stem must have mutually conditioning allomorphs. (Maxwell, 2015)
