restricted Boltzmann machine
Definition
- A generative probabilistic neural network where the pair interactions are restricted to be between an observed set of units and an unobserved set of units. RBMs have been applied widely, for example, in dimensionality reduction, classification, feature learning, pattern recognition, and topic modeling. (Adapted from Oh et al., Entropy, Free Energy, and Work of Restricted Boltzmann Machines, 2020, and Montufar, Restricted Boltzmann Machines: Introduction and Review, 2018)
